Development or Destiny - The Path of a Leader
Hello Champion:
Leadership is critical to success in all facets of life. The infrastructure of our world would not function without effective leaders. Transformative skills can be developed in sports and translated to life.
The question is will the leader want to adapt to a different environment.
There are multiple different ways to lead. Not every person is an outgoing, authoritative leader that leads a group of people with their words.
The strongest leaders in sports, regardless of their voice, use their actions to lead and show their teammates the details of their hard work.
Do you think you lead by example with your work ethic?
Do you think your teammates see you as a hard-working player?
Do your co-workers see you as a hard-working colleague?
Here are some ways that you can lead by example to earn the respect of your teammates and help your team achieve their goals:
Set standards and hold others accountable
Practice what you preach
Listen and understand others
Effective leaders set standards and expectations for their fellow teammates. It is crucial that core values at the workplace are clearly established and communicated. Then, leaders need to follow these standards and make sure others do the same.
One of the most important aspects of leadership is by showing others that they can trust you and should follow you. Strong leaders demonstrate their prowess by leading by example. Leading by example can be showing up early, being thorough and organized, and completing the objectives that you set.
Great leaders also listen to others and understand their needs. Great leaders are adaptive leaders. They understand that their way may not be the only way and are receptive to insight.
Leadership is developed over time - It is built not born. Focusing on showing up every day and staying consistent and committed with your work ethic will bring you success.
Keep growing.
