Finding Balance Brings Success

Hello Champion:

We all know the nature of being involved in athletics or the sports industry. Fast paced, nonstop, high pressure. If we let it, it can get the best of us.

As important as it is to be focused and committed to whatever it is that we do in life, balance in our lives is a crucial component to becoming the best, most well rounded version of ourselves.

Maintaining balance in our life ensures that we give ourselves time to enjoy things that are not related to the work we put into our career or goals each day.

This past year, we were all faced with a difficult challenge in the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic. However, in combating the virus we were given a lot of free time to fill with balancing activities that we did not have time for prior to the pandemic.

As we begin to unmask and return to our normal day to day lives, the introduction of working virtually will leave us some of that free time to continue to do the things we had picked up while in lockdown.

So be sure to appreciate the little things as we return to normalcy and continue to find time for that much needed balance in our lives as the pace of work begins to speed up.

“When you have balance in your life, work becomes an entirely different experience. There is a passion that moves you to a whole new level of fulfillment and gratitude, and that's when you can do your best... for yourself and for others.”  - Cara Delevingne

Here are three tips to achieve and maintain a balanced lifestyle:

  1. Find the time: We all have busy schedules. Make sure you find the time in your own to focus on different things, whether it be for a few minutes or a few hours.

  2. Know your limits: Do not take on more responsibility than you can handle at one time. This will lead to a burn out.

  3. Listen to yourself: Sometimes your mind or body will tell you when it is time to rest and reset.

Remember, it is important to stay well rounded in life and take a step back from your main focus from time to time.
