The Development of Resilience
Hello Champion:
Strength. Mental Toughness. Adaptability.
These are just a few of the qualities that make a person resilient.
Resilience can be defined as an ability to mentally or physically manage a crisis and be able to bounce back quickly. In this moment, we often need to be vulnerable with ourselves as well as others to continue on our path of personal growth.
It’s important to not let a few missed opportunities prevent you from achieving the next one.
The world’s greatest athletes are some of the most resilient people on earth.
Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team but continued his grind to become arguably the best NBA player of all time.
Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round of the NFL Draft and worked hard to become a 7-time Super Bowl Champion.
“I hated every minute of training. But I said, don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life a champion.” Muhammad Ali.
These are just some of the prime examples of athletes using tough situations as a chip on their shoulder to push through the adversity that they faced during their journeys.
Here are three of the best ways that we can start our journey to becoming resilient:
Being able to keep things in perspective.
Start attempting to accept change in our life.
Using past experiences as a learning experience.
Remember, no matter how hard life can knock us down, we must find the strength to keep moving forward!
