Build Each Other Up

Hello Champion:

Do you ever feel as though you have too much on your plate?

Often times when we push ourselves to be our best, we take on multiple responsibilities that take a lot out of us. That is why having a strong support system is crucial to help you stay on top of your tasks.

A strong support system is a person or group of people who positively reinforce your goals as well as genuinely care for you and will help you live out your purpose.

Not every support system is a giant group of people. Whether it be your parents, a friend or two, or a mentor, having that support will be incredibly beneficial when the going gets tough. The most important part of a support system is the loyalty and care that those people have for you.

Some of the greatest athletes in the world have the  most loyal of support systems. Once a broke kid from Ireland on welfare, Conor McGregor stuck with the same martial arts coaches and girlfriend on his way to UFC world titles in two weight classes as well as becoming the highest paid athlete in the world.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, Tom Brady, has been incredibly close with his trainer Alex Guerrero, who has been credited for the extended success of Brady’s career as he creeps into his forties.

“Loyalty is a cohesive force that forges individuals into a team.” – John Wooden

Here are three tips to help distinguish your personal support team:

  1. Identify people who care about you: Who are your true friends and genuinely care for your well being

  2. Return the favor: Treat those in your circle with the same loyalty that you expect from them.

  3. Remove toxicity: Do not be afraid to spend less time with people in your life who are not truly invested in your best interest.

Remember, a strong support system keeps each other accountable. No matter how big or small your circle may be, appreciate them and their loyalty daily.
