Hello Champion:

Do you hit snooze when your alarm goes off in the morning?

Does the thought of going to work on Monday give you anxiety?

Have you been struggling with completing the final rep of your workout?

You are not alone. Most people go through seasons of life where they struggle with motivation.

Motivation is the force that drives an individual to give their best efforts no matter the task that they are trying to complete.

Research shows that when people are motivated their performance improves and personal growth takes place.

“Nothing is given. Everything is earned.” LeBron James.

The best way to overcome a lack of willingness is by holding yourself accountable for the goals that you set. Here are a few strategies that can ignite motivation:

  1. Break large goals into smaller achievable goals

  2. Listen to your favorite song prior to taking on a challenge

  3. Practice positive “self-talk” before, during, and after the task

  4. Reward yourself for practicing self-discipline

  5. Visualize your WHY

It is important to note that eventually you will get stuck again. Just remind yourself to shift your focus.

The Athlete’s Edge Journal is an innovative mental performance tool that provides athletic-minded individuals the opportunity to hold themselves accountable while working towards a goal.

Life is too short - remember to find the one thing that inspires you to keep pushing and never give up.
