Why You Need to Assess Your Values
Hello Champion:
When was the last time you assessed your values?
Values are one of the main things in life that guide and define us as people. Put simply, they are what motivate us to take action each day. In order to be successful, an individual must clearly define their values.
This leads us to ask the challenging question of do you live out your values?
Everyone should do the simple exercise of sitting down and thinking about what motivates you and how you perceive yourself. Whether it be hard work, patience, or faith we must know what makes us tick. By doing this physical act, you create a greater significance than just having your values in your head.

It may also be helpful to put something that reminds you of your values somewhere you look at everyday.
Hang a poster of a historical person that embodies your values or it could just be a sign with your core values written on it.
Post a rejection letter from your dream school or a roster cut list with your name on it. This negative item will motivate you to be better and embody the positive elements you are striving for.
Moreover, you can make the conscious decision to truly change yourself and follow those core values. One suggestion is to follow the 21/90 Rule we just featured on our Instagram page. This rule states that it takes 21 days in order to build a habit and 90 days in order to make that habit a part of your lifestyle permanently.
Check out these three tips to help you live out your values:
Create a greater significance for your values by physically writing out your core values.
Surrounding yourself with objects or people who embody your core values will be infectious by proxy.
Follow the 21/90 rule in order to make these core values permanently a part of your lifestyle.
Remember, defining your core values will help optimize your life on a daily basis.
